What is the right breed for me?

Hello everyone!!!
I am new to Forums and chickens!!!
My parents had chickens a long time ago and my mom is obsessed with chickens in her kitchen!!

Anyway, my question is what breed is right for me? I live in Southern MS and want to start out with a few for eggs and pets?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Seramas! Great pets, and they lay fairly well.

I would say Buff Orpington they have a great temperment and Lay well.

Rhode Island Reds are the way to go they lay lots of eggs and are very frendly.
