What is the shelf life of our fresh eggs?

They may be still good if refrigerated, I wouldnt eat eggs past 60 days though- not past 30 if I could help it.

30 days unwashed and on the counter or 60 days washed and refrigerated. Have never had a bad egg using this as a standard for home use. Eggs we sell are no more than 2 days old. They never have a chance to be any older!

Are you for real that an egg can sit at room temperature for a month and still be edible?

If a person were to sell eggs privately, should they be washed if they are gathered 'clean' or should they be sold unwashed and have the buyer wash them if they want and should the buyer even be told to wash them?

I leave mine out for no longer than 2 weeks. I have seen posts either here on BYC or other forums that have said 30 days. I experimented and kept some in the fridge for 30 days after sitting out for 2 weeks previous. I ate them, they were all good @ 45 days old. They don't usually last that long here. Some ?friends? decided to help themselves and started coming over sometime during the day and getting the eggs out of the nest boxes. They were taking all of the eggs. I didn't know it. I work. I wondered why suddenly I wasn't getting any eggs.

We never wash eggs for sale. Keep next boxes clean and they have nothing to wash off.

I know this is an old thread but what are the ways of storing eggs long term.

Say for Turkeys who don't lay in the winter and you have a good 200 eggs from your flock, can you just scramble them and freeze the whole mess in aliquots?

When I went on a mission in Mexico all of the eggs were sold on unrefrigerated isles...freaked me out but now after reading this it makes some sense...

Seems like I read something in Mother Earth News about unwashed eggs kept on the countertop kept for around 100 days in their experiment. Never tried it, though. I was mine if they are a little dirty. If not then I don't bother washing, but I do keep them in the fridge. I'll see if I can find a link to the Mother Earth news article.
