What is the standard procedure for new chickens? The whole run down.

I want to know what the whole procedure for introducing new chickens to my flock. I have gotten bits a pieces in segments like worm them, dust them etc but I want to know what to know exactly what to do, when to do it and tips and tricks.

The chickens in question are two 12 week old Maran pullets. I got them from a private breeder about 50km's away (31 miles), just told you this in case it is out of my bio security area or what ever terminology you use.

Bringing in outside birds always carries some risk factor. It isn't the lice and worms issues that would worry me the most. Those are straightforward to deal with, not only with the new birds, but the old birds. Treat everyone, if you wish, repeating in 8 days as you see fit.

What you cannot see are diseases for which the new birds might be carriers. Respiratory and nervous system virus type things. Also, your birds may have developed a certain resistance to something in your area that the new birds may react to.

Thus, most people keep the new birds separate, in security, far outside of breathing exchange, for 2 weeks minimum and longer if they are concerned.

Finally, you still face the integration issue and the "disturbance in the force" that intruders bring to the social order among existing flocks.

Putting chickens together can be tricky:/ .NEVER EVER put chickens together during the day time, major fights will occur. The best thing to do, is to put the together at night, after its been dark for a couple hours. If you do this super quiet, the other chickens won't even know they're there untill morning, the best thing to do is to is also put some places where they can hide. Depending on the chickens that you have, there may or may not be any fights, its a hit or miss kind of thing.

Thanks to both of you, i have no problem in the introducing side of things (done this many times) i want to know- How long do i separate my pullets from the flock for, how do i check for respiratory and nerve problem? It's these kind of answers I'm after.
They have already been separate form my original for almost 2 weeks now. All I have done so far is put ACV in their water and feed them and let them run around near the house, about 200m away form my original flock.
People said that you have to wear different clothes each time you tend to your new chickens and always tend to your first flock before the new girls, i also want to know what this is all about.
