What is the STRANGEST gift or reason for getting a gift you've had?

My dad bought me a copy of Bill O'Reilly's book year before last with an inscription asking me to consider a different point of view. I think I'll buy him a copy of Richard Dawkins The God Delusion.
I lived with a guy for several years who was big into Warhammer tabletop games. I was too, but not so much that I forgot it was my birthday, not his. He'd buy me all the models he wanted to play with. Finally the xmas before we broke up, he buys me lingerie. Still selfish, but at least girly. Nevertheless, it was too little too late.

my mom gives the weirdest gifts. she is very practical. likes to shop christmas eve morning at the drugstore for our gifts. one of the many reasons i love her. one yr, i got a big package of ZIP TIES!!! yep you read that right, ZIP TIES. that was it. she is very funny. i put my christmas lights up with zip ties and told her how good they worked. a month later, low and behold, a package of ZIP TIES. don't get me wrong, she isn't some old crazy cat lady or anything. she is one of the smartest people i know. common sense that is. she has more useless knowlege than anyone i know.(not all useless, she has alot of it) i call her for farming info before anyone else. none of my animals see a vet till i talk to her.

The year that my mom was on some serious pain meds for a bad back definitely produced the weirdest gifts. She gave me a state-of-the-art ski mask.

I'm neither a skiier nor a bank robber.
