How could anyone think that was edible??

Want me to send you a few? The restaurant is down the street. It is not like they'll go bad during shipping.

Back in the 50's and 60's they made stuff like tomato or celery flavored jellos.

Aspic (sp) is very good! But you need to use a real recipe. And not, it does not have tuna in it, LOL!
I used to make it for an elderly lady I took care of.
Hers had a V8 base, with plain jello.
Lots of yummy veges. Not at all a gross food.

Pickled eggs, pickled salmon (When I am home my dad likes to torment me with the pickled salmon, he knows how disgusting I find it, so he makes a big issue of eating it.)

Reminded me of a odd food story from my youth a couple centuries ago.
When I was a teen-ager I worked in a hospital kitchen. One day someone made egg salad sandwiches, but used cinnamon instead of paprika in the egg salad. It was just before service and no time to remake, so I suggested giving it a different name. I don't remember what we called it, but we told people that it was a new foriegn recipe and if they didn't like it we would give them their money back. We sold several and not a person wanted their money back, and we got a couple compliments.

Imp- presentation is key. So maybe a lettuce leaf under the balut.
