Reason I ask is because I have 8 10.5 week old chicks. All of my female EE's are squatting when I try to pick them up - mostly at night time. Why? They are so very young! Kids these day.. grow up way too fast...

20+ weeks, including the EE's. I've had them squat 2-3 months before laying. Squatting is a sign of submission. Some roosters I hear do it too.

Interesting.. My roosters do not squat. Only my four EE girls. Obvious girls as well. No signs of them being boys.

I've only read that roosters will sometimes squat. I never had experience myself.

I think I have a boy in my brooder! Yay! Hubby agreed to keep this one as long as he doesn't show aggression. I have kids that frequent our coop. We'll see in a month or two if my light brahma is a boy or girl.

I would love to have a solid white EE. So beautiful!

I didn't think they would be white like that, but it's awesome. Not very typical from pics I've seen. :)

I have yet to have an aggressive roo, though I have my fingers crossed until they are over the hormone stage

I love your white EE too - I have 3 white EE chicks I hatched out myself that are 5 weeks old now. I was hoping for blues but got the 3 little whites out of 10. I wasn't too crazy about them at first but seeing your pictures of how mine will look changed my mind, they are really pretty!

Thanks :) They had stripes down their back as chicks and one big dot on their heads. I thought they would have some kind of markings, but they don't at all.
