I have 3 with feathered feet so that's why I was asking. It looks like thread tangled on there but someone said dried grass. I've never heard of a stray single chicken so this is odd to me.

My thought exactly. How has it survived this long if it keeps showing up at her door? Sounds like someone had buyers remorse and dropped it.
