What is this "anonymous fowl"??

Thanks for the update! I would have thought a cockerel as well looking at those 3 week pictures, so glad they were wrong! :) Perhaps it's just hatchery quality partridge rock. Dunno.

quite possible, but either way she turned out to be a very sweet and affectionate bird :) every time we approach her she does the pitter patter of the feet followed by the squat and WILL NOT MOVE until we scratch her back lol. it is a riot

Not a partridge rock with those salmon feathers on her breast. Looking back on your previous photos this was obvious on hindsight. Partridge rock hens have pencilling all over back and breast. This looks very close to a Welsummer, but not quite that either? But now I'm not trusting my own judgment. These brown hens can all look alike to me. I still have trouble sorting them out.

After checking out the Welsummers, I THINK WE HAVE A WINNER... the reason I say this is due to the yellow on the neck. My photos do not show it very well, but it is definite yellow/ gold penciling on her feathers... very brightly on the neck. I will try to get a better photo

*edited* photo added.. love the "who, me?" pose

I agree that she looks somewhat like a welsummer, but the extra black on the head/neck is wrong. Hatchery stock maybe. Has she laid any eggs yet? If she has any welsummer in her she should at leas have a sort of terra-cotta coating on the eggs. She sure is purdy anyhow. Here is Barry's pic from feathersite - classic.
