What is this behavior?

Can someone explain to me what my chicken is doing?
She is an araucana, 7 mo old, and has started going into the nest box every afternoon, sitting there for several hours (until dark), then gets up and roosts for the night. Then in the morning she goes out and does her chicken thing until mid-afternoon and then lays in the box again. She hasn't laid any eggs for over a week.
Is she going broody, or is she having egg laying troubles? She sometimes picks a nest box with 1 egg in, but not always. I have to take the eggs out from under her (boy that makes her mad) but never her eggs.

Its possible she is becoming brooding..My older broodies will sit all day and roost at night for about three days before locking down on the nest..

That sounds exactly like how my hen did before she went broody.

Thanks for the replies. I may try to put a few eggs under her to get a few chicks out of the deal since she isn't producing. We'll see what happens.
