what is this breed??

OK so someone told me this was a spotted Sussex. I wanted to be sure, this is a female named speckles

I've heard of Speckled Sussex, but they have more reddish brown with hints of black and white flecks/ dots. The tail on your bird looks different than the Sussex I've seen. Could be she's a mix. I like her polka dots

That is an Ancona. Speckled Sussex are mahogany with black and white flecks, white legs, and red earlobes.

Reminds me of a Legorn tail. I have Exchequer Leghorns that are spotted like her, maybe that's what she's mixed with.

I love my Speckled Sussex; she's very sweet and curious. Your hen must have took after the Sussex breed, Leghorns tend to be flighty.

Yes I have learned... The leghorns are VERY flighty lol
But she hasn't flied out of the pen like the leghorns do, but she's always on the top roost lol
