about four weeks old now. Was told she is a leghorn. Came from the local high school AG project.

Is she??

Agreed. Not a leghorn. We got this one and an Easter Egger. It was an unplanned adoption as the AG unit at the high school called begging for a home as they had to clear them all out.

Praying they are pullets as well.

So far...so good. "SHE" is what appears to still be a SHE. The Americuna (Easter Egger) that she came with from the Ag students at the high school is NO doubt a male. He started with the cutest little root rooooo sound this last weekend. Of course, it is cute now...but will be annoying very quickly. Although, the ducks at times just burst out in sound, which actually sounds JUST like a cartoon character laughing loudly. We've had gorgeous weather so the windows have been open. Sitting in the house...and then all of a sudden quack quack quack quack... in a hysterical human laughing pattern.

So cute!!
Make sure that if this does turn out to be an easter egger you say ee... an ameraucana is completely different and a specified breed, whereas an EE is not a breed.

That's the problem - these are from the AG department at the school and they had very few details about the breeds identification.

We have been guessing on both of them. I'll get a pic of him and post it. As a baby chick he looked identical to an Ameraucana from pics my wife was looking at online.

Oh...and we did have photos when they were all hatching. There were colored eggs in this mix that were hatching chicks.
