So even though your bird may not meet the "standard" does not mean it's not an EE or BO or etc. etc.
There's never a 'perfect' bird, but if a bird doesn't broadly fit the type described in the standard then it cannot be that breed (EE isn't a breed). Delawares & buckeyes would have been breeding true to type before being named.
