It might be an egg membrane. I've seen that a couple of times. It can be a new laying hen glitch, as their body gets the kinks worked out of their system.

If you cut it in half and see layers of a cheesy looking substance, that's lash egg material.

Search here on BYC for "lash egg" and "salpingitis," which is the technical term.

As for her age, yes, lash eggs can happen to young birds, but they're more likely to happen in older birds.
