To me, it looks very reminiscent of wild mango or perhaps Marian plum (Bouea burmanica--native to southeast Asia, also called mango plum). You have two apparently dissimilar photos of the leaves, however, and one of the photos looks more mango-like while the other looks more like cherry or elm or something. I have been unable to find a perfect match, based on the photos, and would be quite surprised to find anything so mango-like or Marian plum-like in Minnesota--where it appears you hail from. My best guess, then, is that it is some type of plum. In any case, I highly doubt they are poisonous, and would not fear to have my chickens under such a tree. Chickens seldom take much interest in fruits of this nature in any case.
