What is this golden chicken?

The 2 in the background look like they have no tails. Does it look like they had them picked out by other birds or something else or does it look like they are missing tails naturally? It would be interesting if they carried a rumpless trait.

Sorry, you're never going to get eggs from those guys. They're all roosters, I'm guessing in the 4 month range. Orpingtons can be a slower to mature breed, sometimes not crowing until 7-8 months. But you can see saddle feathers starting, the darker gold shading on the wings, the thick legs and just the overall stance. Hens are rounded, feminine looking. These guys all look like teenage boys--gawky, gangly and too leggy.

Yeah, sorry to say this, but I think you bought a lot of young Buff Orpington cockerels.

I had only one Buff Orp. hen, but yours look like roosters, from how they stand, the long legs and neck.
Don't wait, bring back where you bought them. You won't take back your money if you try to sell. Many people only wants for free young roosters (for free dinner).

Iwas at an auction.....there was a young couple there looking for barred rock hens. There was a cage full of LABLED black sex links. They wanted the barred ones (roosters) so badly! I told them twice they were not hens.....

They bought the cage of chickens, took the black ones out of the cage and《drum roll》gave them to people in the crowd!!!

The look on their faces was probably priceless when the crowing started......

It's not the auction folks' job to be sure the item is described accurately. The seller labels the item with whatever they want and the auctioneer sells it as such. Buyer beware, always.
