What is this hen?

I got this hen (we named her Frittata) from someone who had to move and couldn't take her chickens with her. She is about 14 months old and lays light brown, kind of pinkish-brown eggs. She is not big (that is a copper Marans in the picture behind her) and she has a fairly large single comb. She has laid about 5 eggs a week so far (only had her a couple of weeks). What do you think she is? Red Cross maybe?

That is a funky looking comb on that girl...lol. Are her legs slate?? She's not a breed I'm familiar with; I'd guess a cross of some kind??? Sounds like she's a good layer for you

Her legs are gray - and yes it is a large flopped over comb. The eggs she lays are pretty pinkish brown with little speckles. I think you are right she is probably some kind of chicken mutt
