What is this on her beak?

we noticed this on one of our hens beaks in my daughter says two of our other chickens also looked like they have the same thing. I haven't looked myself yet. They are all over 2 years old.

Are you refering to the dark spot at the tip of where the comb meets the beak? Looks like a small injury there, probably from trying to get at something on the other side of wire. Also possibly from a feeder or waterer. Looks to be some minor abrasion a bit higher on the comb also, so makes me think she's sticking her head through something somewhere.

Yes and maybe it's just that we haven't really looked at that area enough to know what it really did look like before, but it seems like there's like a white bump there too? maybe it's always looked like that and we just never really noticed? She's been free-ranging the yard almost everyday, so I'm not sure what she could have bumped it on?
