My rooster has a large bump on his toe that keeps continuing to grow. At first I thought it might have been broken but now it doesn't appear to be since its grown so large that his toe doesn't sit flat on the ground. I thought about trying to pop it but wanted to know what you guys thought.

If its not bumblefoot what do you think it might be?

I can't tell if its a scab or dirt. I pulled some off the other day and I thought I saw pus.

I read the you use antibiotics to treat it. The only antibiotics I have are clavamox 62.5 mg but not sure if that's safe or an accurate dose. Next step would be to make an incision but you also need antibiotics after that as well.

I think it is bumblefoot but just more on his toe. I soaked his feet in epson salt water for about 10 minutes and then put benadine around the area to clean it off. I then was able to pull off the scabs. The one on his foot was ok but the one on his toe pretty much squirted blood when you removed the scab. There was pus and thick chunks that came out of there. I let it bleed. after about a minute the blood coming from the wound started draining slower. You could tell the pressure in the toe wasn't as bad as before. From there I flushed out the whole with benadine and water. I then put a powder which is supposed to be like a antibiotic powder and should help keep it clean. I wrapped his foot and crated him. I also put antibiotic water in there for him.

He didn't mind me working on him, and actually seemed to like it. He just laid next to me. I didn't even have to restrain him. Once I was done he looked at me and cackled and started walking to the coop to settle in for the night. I just hope that's all that's wrong and will get better soon:/
