What is this plant? My hens just ate half of it!

I have these 2 plants in my run, and for some reason a couple of days ago they just started pecking at it after months of showing no interest in it. And I just realized tonight they've been eating all the leaves!
Do you know what kind of plant it is? Could is be poisonous?

I've now cut it down.

I’m definitely not sure what plant that is, but chickens know what they can and can’t eat just like any other animal. So I would worry about it

Ok thank you. I hope that's the case. They seem fine and their poo and crop are normal so far.

Is that plant the same as the one with the red flower in the upper left of your photo? Of so, it’s a hibiscus.

Not sure of its toxicity to chickens.
