What is this rooster?

It is a rooster. See the little red wattles and the red comb at this age.
Are you sure? I'm really sure it's a pullet. A lot of pullets grow their combs in early. My beautiful RIR hen got her comb and wattles at 5 weeks of age. And now I am getting a bunch of big, brown eggs from her.

I think its acting pretty hennish the more I'm watching it. And comparatively the comb and wattle coloring isn't as dark as many of my others that came sexed as females. THis is my 4th go with this hatchery and I've had about an 80% sexing accuracy rate I'd say. Apparently this was one of the 20%. Although we'll have to wait and see.

thats a boy. it still has fuzz on its head and already has a red comb and wattles starting. Plus look at the dark patches on the wings. I'm saying boy.

Nope. Pullet. Even girls can get comb and wattles in early, like my RIR pullet. And all birds have different coloring. Even a girl can have some dark spots. I'm definetley saying girl.

it can be one of three breeds (don't remember if the hatchery carries all of these) RIR, new hampsure, or production red...it is a pullet as at this point in time the comb and wattles would be larger if it is one of those breeds for a cockerel.
