What is this snake my roo found

Ok, I did research on legless lizards and that is what I conclude it is....I think. Pretty sure.

Looks just about identical to the ones I viewed on google.

It looks JUST like a snake though! I was fooled! lol

Sure looks like a cute little worm snake to me. (I'm not a big snake fan but those little buggers are really adorable, especially since they're harmless.)

Well, after further investigating I say it is a worm snake instead of a legless lizard.

I would probably go ahead and turn it loose. They don't do the best in captivity if you aren't a "snake person". I am glad you saved him, though! We have those all over.

DH found a legless lizard on the pipeline once. Showed everyone and people couldn't believe it. They aren't something you find everyday. They are really cool. I found half of one down by our pond the other day. I was really upset. I think the neighbor's cat got it. They are the coolest things!

We are wildlife rehabbers so we always turn our wild critters loose. We have plans to take him down to the end of our dirtroad (2 miles) and let him go by the creek. I don't want the chickens to eat him and if I let him go here, they will find him. Over 70 chickens (mostly chicks) in the yard will find just about anything LOL Right now he is an educational item in the house. My daughters love him and want to feel his scales every 5 minutes. LOL

My hen who had initially grabbed him up was flinging him up in the air, catching it! and then flinging him back up. I guess she was trying to kill it to eat it. The other hen and chick was jumping to get at him too. He has a dent in him down from his head where they had a hold of him.

Whatever the little guy is....he is kinda cute.
