What is this, some kind of "Progressive BS"?

I'm wondering if your split to BS birds also develop this way?
What I have seen here (where everyone seems to be split to BS*) makes me wonder.

The young guys all look like straight IB for their first 2 years
(This is Sneezy, hatched last summer):


By age 4, they have darker patches on the upper wing
(This is Pippy, now 4 years old; Minny, who is also 4, has the same thing):





And here's the guy who, as far as I can tell, is "Everyone's Daddy"
(Floppy, I have no idea how old he is!):




*I should say that everyone is split BS except everyone's mom, "Mom."

Pippy and Floppy are both spaldings. On the very light yellow section in the face you can see it. IB or BS don’t have it.

This is coming from the green blood. Floppy has more green blood, there you can see it already clear on the wing covers.

Are you certain that Floppy is split to Black shoulder? I have an IB Pied male who is about 10 now and his shoulders look like your 4 year old Pippy. I have no idea if he is split BS, I've never bred him with any BS or split BS hens to see if they produce any BS.

Do you think Pippy and Floppy are spalding and split BS or do you think the green blood alone would cause the dark wing covers? I'm curious because I have an IB Pied with dark shoulder feathers like Pippy, but no yellow at all visible on the face. I'm wondering if he is spalding as well? Thanks!

I have absolutely no clue about Floppy and his background - he has been here for many years (since long before I arrived).
I previously asked here on the forum about Floppy and various peapeople told me he had some green blood somewhere in his background.

However, the hatching of a BS chick here last summer (Little Yellow is her name) makes it evident that her mother Chicken Girl is split BS and at least one of the peacocks here is also split BS. So I assumed that what I was seeing on Floppy was actually some expression of his being split BS, but I certainly may have been jumping to conclusions. This BS stuff is still new to me!

I'm having trouble remembering where I read this, but did I read that there was some green pea connection to the original BS mutation?
That is to say, is there some long ago connection between BS and greens?
I may be confused yet again.

The colored shoulders can be the result of split bs or green blood. I generally believe the green blood shows itself from the outer edge up whereas the split bs shows itself at about year three on the top of the shoulder in addition to the outer edge.
