We've been battling NFM for 10+ weeks now. I just sprayed the entire flock and coop for a second time in 2 weeks this past Saturday with Elector PSP. I noticed one of my roosters (who was so severely injured by another rooster he couldn't dust bathe) had mites on him still after 5 days. I ordered more Elector PSP.

Tonight I go out to inspect the flock as I get them in for the night and 2 out of 5 girls have lice! I am SO OVERWHELMED!! Why is this happening? Is the treatment for Lice the same as Mites? Do I clean out the entire coop, again, spray it down and spray down every bird every 2 weeks until they're gone?

The warm weather certainly encourages bugs. Know that as a Floridian, lol.
I would just keep spraying and cleaning. Next time you spray the Elector PSP, check the birdies a few days later to see if it's working. If it doesn't, it could be that your batch is no longer fresh and effective. Last month we used Elector PSP for lice and they were all gone two days later. I keep checking and haven't seen them since. However, Elector PSP has a limited shelf-life.

That is encouraging. I spoke to Elanco two days ago and they assured me that an opened bottle of Elector, properly stored, will last three years. I have a brand new bottle shipping right now and as soon as I get it, I'm soaking everyone. Baby turkeys will get a dose too, as a preventative.

Hey, I'm not a chicken owner, but have been battling a swarm of bird mites. From what I have read, the Northern Fowl Mite's life cycle may be much faster than you're treating, especially with proper ambient conditions. See about treating with something else in between the Elector PSP, or if you can increase the usage to 1x/week or earlier. You're chasing a growing population you can't keep up with. Best of luck! I'm in the same boat, but in my home.
