what is this ugly bird

yup I say shes got a bunch of game in her, but not pure.

I would definately treat her legs with some type of cooking oil or vasoline. I agree with a previous poster, treat those evil leg mites, give her bunches of goodies and she'll be sweet on you.

Check her all over for mites. Those really short head feathers could be from mite damage as well. My bantam game hens are a little shy, but they are not mean. Pull out the magnifying glass and really look..... unless your eyes are younger than mine!!

I had a rooster with what looked like scaly leg mites when I got him a month ago, and I used Udder Balm (mineral oil with Aloe) weekly, bathed him a couple times, used a stylus to pick out the junk under his scales, and he did terrific at a show today, getting 9 out of 10 points on "condition".

Aw! Poor thing is infested with parasites! She's not ugly! She's a pretty blue bird, maybe hatchery quality OEGB or a mix. Get her fixed up and some good feed, and I'll bet she'll be nicer and much prettier!

She looks a lot like one of my pullets, and everyone loves her and thinks she's beautiful. She was a little snippy for a while, but she just hatched out 5 chicks last week and is an excellent mother! And she's very friendly, teaching her chicks to eat food out of our hands, lets us pet them and her while feeding treats, etc.

Noticed the leg mites last night while taking pics .. ouch.. thx for suggestions I also read dipping them in vegetable oil works... but u say vasoline too eh
