No mention of detriment..
Just did some more research and it looks like people actually eat this plant (as you mentioned). Could possibly be good for the livestock?
I’m my experience, chickens avoid toxic plants. Not sure about sheep though... but we have 2 acres, it would be impossible to go through and identify every plant and weed; I put my “faith” in my chickens.
 
We used to have that growing in the flower bed by one of our outbuildings. I havnt seen it come up yet this year, I think my ducks and geese ate them all.
So nothing to worry about!

edit: my goats got into them to when they escaped. So your sheep should be good to. I do believe sheep will stay out of things that are bad for them, my goats do for the most part.

Well... sheep are not the brightest animals. Mine charge headfirst into things like Russian thistle because it's closer than grass.
