What is this???

Does anyone know what happened here? This was in my chicke. laying boxes and feels like an egg inside....

Looks like a lash egg. Its infection material from an ovitract infection.

You may be able to help with antibiotics from the vet... Since it's a sign of things to come I cull for it.

Only thing you can do is get your chicken on antibiotics and hope for the best. Usually by the time they pass a lash egg thier outcome is limited at best.

The weird thing is there was an actual egg under all that coating. I cut it apart and there was a completely normal egg inside. Now to find which hen laid it.

That could be a good sign that the infection is or was lower in the tract but you should still look into seeing a vet about antibiotics, as you don't want it to spread up. Even with treatment you will probably see more before it clears. Once you locate her seperate her to keep an eye on her laying and overall condition.

I was going to ask if you had cut it open.....pics of that would help.
Hopefully just a fluke, a glitch in the old egg machine.
