Can you cook other things in a Canner like that though? I have my grandmothers Canner. She never used it for anything but canning.

I was raised on vittles that were put up in one of those... but I’ve never used one....

I have fond memories of watcimg my disappointed mother pull out that one jar of jelly that didn’t seal...

... that meant it had to used up and we didn’t have to wait till winter or some other abstract time to get at it!

I also recall mom getting the kitchen so hot in July when she was canning that Old Scratch himself couldn’t have made it in there more than ten minutes!

I often used one to cook beans. My mom used to cook stew in her pressure cooker.
