Ok so obviously a pot but no one I have spoken to knows how it would be used. Even empty it weighs 10 pounds. Long hollow handle. Very tippy to hold by handle. Can't imagine trying to lift this with something hot inside.

My wife collects old copper stuff so I showed this to her and she said she thought it was for making candy…

so I searched ‘copper candy pot’ and found this
