What is this??

I just noticed this on my serama roo today It’s black rather bumpy and hard. 1” in diameter raised but doesn’t seem to bother him. Anyone know what it is?

How long have you noticed that growing? It could be a tumor or an impacted feather cyst. Tumors in chickens can sometimes be caused by viruses, such as those in Mareks disease or Lymphoid Leukosis, or other types. Impacted feather cysts can sometimes cause lumps. You might want to apply a warm wet compress to it to see what it looks like.
