What is this?

Hello, one of my hens laid this… maybe a soft shelled egg, or maybe a lash egg? She is acting normal, eating and drinking… just not sure what this is.

Looks like one of the weird or odd eggs. Is is a soft shelled egg with a tail. You might want to give some calcium citrate with vitamins d for about 7 days.

Thank you for the response, she has been laying for about a year, but this is the first egg of this kind that she has laid. I feed flock raiser pellets with oyster shells and the occasional kitchen scrap.

As eggcessive said, she could be deficient, or it could just be a random odd egg. Either way there's nothing to worry about! Giving her the vitamin d and calcium will insure there's no further issues.
