What is this?

Hey I found this weird looking thing yesterday morning in the nesting box. I was thinking it was an egg that didn’t develop right? I’m not sure. Does anyone know what this is?

It could be lash egg material, a product of inflammation of the oviduct (salpingitis.) I would cut it open and post a picture.
