Bumblefoot. Sometimes it happens on the top, between toes. Any kind of small injury that opens the skin can let bacteria in and be the start of bumblefoot. I would check the bottom of the foot as well, make sure there are no injuries there. Soak the foot in warm epsom salts for 20-30 minutes to soften it up, and then remove that scab/lesion and clean out everything underneath it. It will likely leave a space or hole. It may bleed a little, but should not bleed a lot. The pus will be firm and cheesy, and will be a creamy or pale yellow color, and may adhere to the healty tissue, so sometimes it takes a fair amount of manipulation to get it all out. Sometimes it comes out as a solid plug if you're lucky. Take your time and try to get it all, or it will regenerate instead of heal, and you will be doing it again. Flush it out well with diluted betadine or chlorhexidine, fill the space with plain triple antibiotic ointment and wrap to keep it clean. Use a small piece of gauze or telfa pad over the area and then wrap with vet wrap or co wrap making sure it's only on as tight as it needs to be to stay on, not too tight and cutting off circulation. Vet wrap and co wrap sticks to itself rather than the bird, which makes getting it off easier. I would check daily, reapply the ointment, and rebandage until you know it's healing. As it heals it will shrink and not be a giant hole anymore.
