What is this?

This is Crow. (Named by my daughter-and we hope it doesn't) Part of the surprise hatch from 4H. It's this barely visible comb that is black. What's up with that? Boy/girl? Jersey Giant maybe? It's about a month old.

Jersey Giant maybe? I seem to remember reading something about them having a yellow middle toe, but I could be wrong! Looks girlie to me!

I have NO idea, but I had a young hen like that once!! Exactly the same thing with the comb, it looked like the comb had been removed or something! lol I was told she was probably a black star.

Not a jersey giant they have serrated combs. Or are supposed to.
