What is this?

I am very new here, just joined about an hour ago, and am hoping someone can identify this object I found in a nest box this morning.




It came out of the nest box in these three pieces and was dryish to the touch and kinda rubbery in feel. I have no clue what it may be, and in the 3+ years I have kept chickens I have never seen anything like it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Okay, well I tried to post the picture and I got an error telling me, as a new member, I couldn't post an image due to spam issues. I'll post without the image and then try posting again with the image. Sigh... being new here I'm not sure how it all works yet.

It could have been a strange soft shelled egg, Have you wormed the chickens recently?

it looks like overcooked calamari to me - have your chickens been dining out lately

(sorry I didn't notice the title of the thread - didn't mean to be flip)

I haven't wormed them, and there is no sign of worms among the flock. As for calimari, yuck.... I will be thinking twice before ordering it again.

It looks like a caterpillar that was undigested ....YUK!!!!
