What is this??

I free range my chickens about an hour a day and I have been watching them and what they are eating from the ground and when I pick them up there is white gooey stuff on their beak. Is that normal? What is it?

Well actually its more like white gooey stuff coming out of the mouth....

Is it from all of your chickens or just a select few? does it happen everytime they free range? or any other time of the day? do they seem to be healthy and vibrant otherwise? how long has this been happening? more info or pic please...

All of them get it every time I free range them. They seem healthy. Its been happening for....I dunno....Ever since I fist started free ranging them. I figure its fine! Im just curious as to what it is. I was thinking maybe it might be what they are eating all like chopped up o something like that??
