What is this ???

Guessing that the siding on the building in the background is "T1-11" ... The lines are about 8" apart ... So too small for badger or fischer ... The bumped back is throwing it off, mink have very flexible bodies and more than likely that is what it is!

Trap it in a "mink box trap" ... Before it kills your chickens!

It looks like a mink ,its not big enough for a Fisher
Hard to tell size without something for scale reference in pic.

They're all in the weasel family....mink, fisher, weasels of several different sizes....not to mention possibility of a juvenile.

What ever it is, I hope they trap it, and all it's brethren before they eat any of their chooks!

That's a male mink and a large one. No Fishers in Virginia for a long long time. Google how to build a mink box for a 220 Conibear trap. There are also many videos showing how to catch mink in steel traps. While he is on the loose your chickens are in danger. You may nab him in a cage trap but the odds are against you doing that. Mink, especially male mink control large hunting territories and will return often to the area were the photo was taken. You'll have better luck by setting 5 - 6 traps over as wide an area as you can so that you get a fresh bite at the apple almost every day.

That also means that the mink must be lucky every day to avoid becoming a fur collar, but you only need to get lucky once.
