What is Twig?

Some may have seen the variety that makes up my flock, but I'm going to ask one bird/breed at a time to get to the bottom of each one.

Twig is our top hen and also the oldest. I've been looking at different pictures of similar breeds though none quite match her excalty, so I suspect her to be a cross of some sort. Something I've noticed very recently, which I'm not sure if it's always been there or just developed, is that in the right light Twig has a slight green sheen all over her body.

Two suspects I've found are gold Brahma and a variety of Marrans.

The gold Brahma looks promising, though Twig is more slender, has less feather on her legs and the pattern on her body isn't quite so defined. Also her son looks like a smaller and thinner version of the male gold Brahma.

I've found a picture of a Marans that looks quite like her. The only difference being that she lays a light blue egg, not dark brown and also I saw a picture of a male that doesn't really resemble Tetley.

If you can you can see various pictures here; http://treegod.backyardchickens.yuku.com/fs/ls/id/114941.

There's
one of Twig's light blue egg, three of Tetley at different stages of development, one of Twig on a nest, one of the suggested female Brahma, one of the male Brahma and one of the Marans hen (that's what they called it where I found it).

Also have a look at these two other pictures of Twig;

Just for comparison, here is Tetley's sire, Bamboo, who is much smaller. I'll come back to him on another thread, though I suspect he's some sort of Spanish breed; http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/eed26a2436fd26e2a86f8b49347c000565f12bb4.JPG

Thanks
for any help.

The first link was password protected and wouldn't let me open it.

A blue egg would most likely indicate an Easter Egger. Even if an Easter Egger is mixed with something else, if they lay a blue egg, we call them an Easter Egger, since Easter Eggers are all mixed to some degree.

Brahmas would have feathered legs and lay brown eggs. And Marans would have white legs and very dark eggs.

Beautiful hen you have!

I didn't wade through the links to find a picture, but if she's laying a light blue egg she is not a Marans. Part of what makes a Marans is that they lay a very dark brown egg....never blue.

Right, here's some more piccies.

I don't know if this is helpful, since some chicks can be decieving, but this is of Tetley as a chick...

Here he is, not quite chick not quite cockerel...

Showing remarkable resemblance in coloration and crest to this...

The image is very big for this thread for some reason.

Twig isn't so different to this, though not so big and not such a "puffy" tail...

Now don't think only Brahma/Marrans. If there are other breeds that might resemble what I'm showing, please share. I want as broad a spectrum as possible to get an idea of the possibilities.

And also if there are details that would be particularily helpful to show please tell me and I shall try to get specific pictures.

Again thank you.

"I think Twig is Spanish Easter egger-Araucana mix."

Sounds good to me

I've not looked into the Araucana as a possibility for any of my hens. I'll look into that. Thanks.

"What kind of comb does Twig have?"
This picture shows the comb better than most; http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/966265b4a6f2665ca55fbf47b508c03abb441862.JPG

I
don't know the technical description. It's a sort of "blob," without any serated bits.

"Is that a pic of a partridge rock or cochin?"

Which photo? If your talking about the last one you put on there, it's a gold Brahma hen (I did forget to name it).
