Hey yall tonight I found some blood in the coop and so I started a search for what was wrong. Long story short there’s been a hawk coming every day and so they are locked in the coop. Well one of the hens ripped her toenail off on a crate (I blocked off the pinching area now don’t worry) and she is all taken care of and doing fine, but while I was searching for the bleeding victim, I found that one of my hens a RIR, had a red blotch pretty much like on her crop, and this odd yellow stuff around her feathers kinda a bit below her tail and vent. It was very hard to see/get a picture, so sorry for the bad quality photos. I’ve heard of vent gleet but I think this is different? Is this due to lice or something? I looked at her skin around the area and just saw a bit more but no bugs or anything as far as I could tell. Any insight appreciated, thanks.
