what is wrong w/this chickens feet and how do i fix it

OMG! Damaged by leg mites from what it looks like or toes bitten off a long time ago from rats or small predator.

Put Vaseline on the legs to smother the mites.

Put vitamins in water. - Infant Vitamins without the Iron.
You can also use WD40 on the feet to smother mites - treat all your chickens and the roost with Poultry mite spray as the mites crawl along the roost and infect other birds.

Good luck - she looks sore but the chickens are resiliant and can pull through lots of stuff. How did this happen ? Have you just got her? It would have taken a while for this to get as bad, I agree the toes look biten off. You need to make sure those legs are well looked after!

No the picture was taken today and yes I just bought him along w/ three others a few days ago (didn't look at their feet when I got them because they were in a box) Thanks for the info on treatment.

I almost forgot, the others didn't look anywhere near as bad; as a matter of fact only one old hen looked like she had them (besides the one in the pic)

Initially at least treat all of them just in case. Also treat for external parasites and worms. Neglect can lead to many problems. Good luck getting them straightened out.
