NOP said: For me - one of the frustrations is that I have nowhere to turn or vent (except for you wonderful people here!!). Many of you also agree that FAMILY, LIFESTYLE, EDUCATION are all failing our children - how do we change this?
I have often wondered what would happen to this country if suddenly the welfare system went bankrupt. This would not only effect those receiving services but those providing services. Social Services agencies, Health Departments, medical facilities just to name a few would close their doors and the unemployment rates would sky rocket. You would have hundreds of thousands of social program workers out of job as well as families who in the past may have opted to not work but now forced to seek work or starve...
Our country is practically built on the welfare system (medicaid, Section 8 housing, Food Stamps, etc).
That being said....how do we re-vamp something this huge? Can it be done?
