I just noticed this when I went out to feed them today.

I have no idea what the heck this is? Does anybody else know anything about this?

If it came up quickly I am guessing it could be a sting. Yikes!

Can you see if there is a sign of a sting? Meanwhile, a cool compress, perhaps some cooled oatmeal gruel on the knot.

It might not have came up right away I just have so many I probably hadn't noticed it but it never got my attention until now...

Is it very warm? How about the rest of her head and neck?

It is possible it is some kind of infection if it has taken a while to develop. It could also be some kind of tumor. I hope someone who has seen this kind of thing checks in here.

I would consider updating the title of the thread to - large lump on top of her head . . . that might attract help from someone with more experience with this kind of thing.

I would put a cool Epsom salt compress on her head, and follow up with some triple antibiotic ointment (no painkiller).

If you are still on this forum, I am curious to know what that lump turned out to be. My muscovy has a huge lump that has developed also on her head but it does not look to be a boil. Not hot to the touch at all and does not seem to bother her but I am still quite worried.

Could it be a sting or bite?
