You should oil or Vaseline his legs every couple of days for the next few weeks. Your aim is to suffocate the mites. You could gently brush his scales in warm water with a tooth brush to loosen any mite dirt and bad scales once a week

Probably twice a day would be ideal but at least once a day for a week to kill the adults and ever other day for an additional week for eggs and as featheredplanets suggested he would probably enjoy and benefit from a gentle leg cleaning.
