What is wrong with this butt

Ok another attempt for help with my longhorn girls. 1 of them has the

That's a red butt!

I can't really see anything odd going on with her vent, so my guess would be mites/lice or that someone's picking at her.

Have you done a mite check? Vent area, base of tail, under wings, and back of neck can be hot spots. You really have to look down at the skin level. The roosting area can also be inspected at night when mites are most active.

And how much time do you spend with the flock? I'd bring out a chair and sit and watch for a while. If someone's giving her a hard time, it usually doesn't take too long to catch it.
