Two weeks ago I treated a 6-week-old bantam cochin chick for "splay leg". I amped up her vitamins and splinted her legs with pipe cleaners. She was hand fed several times a day. After five days I removed her splints and she seemed fine... for two days... now she walks/scoots backward.
Using her wings for support, she doesn't seem to have control over her direction or velocity. Otherwise she seems happy, healthy and chipper.
Does anyone have any idea what's up with this backward scooting bird? I'd much appreciate any ideas and input.
Thanks, Jenny
