What is wrong with this chick?

There is a 'naked' gene that sometimes is expressed in chickens. I have seen pictures here on BYC of naked birds. I tried an on site search with no results. Do not Google 'naked chickens' - it will not provide the results that are wanted. :oops: My guess is that the bird is either evidencing a mutation or expression of a recessive gene carried by parent stock.

Ya know, granny lady, my brain is a bit frazzled, but something in there wants to say that attempts were made in Israel to develop such a bird. I hope that someone more 'tech proficient' comes along with pictures. @casportpony

I've seen those threads ... There was one that it took months on quality feed before the Cockerel started feathering out. The OP ended up relocating the Cockerel to CA for warmer weather. Must be some kind of mutated gene like the Silkied Ameraucanas years ago.
