what is wrong with this egg or is it my chicken

so i go and collect eggs and i find bumps on one i dont know why they have bumps on the eggs are they safe to eat whats wrong with my chicken why are her eggs coming out like this

I had wondered the same thing for a while myself. I think that the bumps are just calcium deposits on the shell.

They're fine to eat. As a previous poster noted, it's just calcium deposits. I had one girl who consistently laid eggs with rough shells like that.

The bumps wouldn't bother me---just a little extra calcium as others have said---but that hair growing out of it would have me concerned.
