Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. My favorite chickens are Black Sex Links (not actually a breed but a hybrid) as they are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've posted a pic of two of mine below. My favorite standard breed is the Australorp as they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (great lap pets), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. My favorite breed is the Wyandotte, and my favorite color variety within that breed is Columbian. Here are some photos of my Columbian Wyandotte:







I love the Wyandotte's good temperament, very good egg production, cold hardiness, and beautiful plumage.
