What is your favorite. breed of Chickens and Why

Cochins, barred rocks, ameraucanas, sebrights, and crevecoeurs.

-Cochins are fluffy, pretty, friendly, great mothers, decent egg layers, easy to breed, and they come in different sizes and colors.
-Barred rocks are friendly, dominant, dual purpose (great egg layers and good for meat), and have big personalities.
-Ameraucanas lay gorgeous colored eggs, great egg layers, friendly, funny, big personalities.
-Sebrights are a threatened species (cool to own rare birds), large eggs for such a small bird, friendly, big personalities, funny to watch, and independent.
-Crevecoeurs have a hilarious "feather-cut", friendly, decent layers, rare, easy to breed, and funny to watch.

I have much more favorites, but I had to narrow down the list so it's not too long :).

There's something about the look of an Australorp that just fits my idea of what chickens ought to look like. I got the Blue Australorps by accident because the farm store didn't have any black ones that week, and fell in love.

But I really haven't settled on any one breed to raise exclusively because I enjoy the variety of a mixed flock too much. That could change with time.

All chickens are awesome in their own ways!

I adore Silkies - they are the teddy bears of the chicken world, in my opinion. Even the roosters are calm and more docile. Also, they are seriously adorable. Not the greatest egg layers, but their eggs seem to have bigger yolks. Love ameraucanas too - they're very sweet, docile, and great layers.

Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I should get some silked easter eggers... :) but, sadly, chicken math...
