What is your favorite childhood Christmas memory

My mom smartly stayed home while my younger sister and I dragged Dad to every one of the places in the nearby town that sold Christmas trees. Once we had seen ALL the trees, we would go back to whichever one we felt had the perfect tree, and Dad would have to wrestle it into the vehicle. I am sure he did not share out enthusiasm for the shopping trip, and when I look back at photos of our decorated trees, I am shocked that we thought we bought the best one!

It's nice that your Dad allowed you two girls to do the choosing.
I seem to remember maybe 65 or so years ago going with my Dad out on our place searching for a tree to cut and bring back and stringing popcorn together with a needle and thread. But it's very vague.

This is spectacular!

Dad used to take us 4 kids to the Civic Center in Denver to see the lights. It was a magical time. There were lit-up villages in store windows, with animated displays, and finally, the Civic Center itself, lit with more lights than I thought could possibly exist in the entire world. It was always crisply cold and involved a lot of walking, but he always seemed to know when we'd had enough and would get us home before we got tired and cranky. Hot cocoa awaited us, and then we'd spread blankets on the floor under the tree to "wait up" for Santa Claus, who always seemed to show up after we fell asleep, the old rascal! 🥰

In our area, we have a Christmas light "park" where you drive around and Christmas lights of all colors, shapes, and sizes are displayed. It's called "Bright Nights", sort of like a festival. You have to pay for entry, per car.
Lol, forgot to talk about the actual memories. Basically I just remember going as a family every year to see the lights. It was probably more enjoyable in my childhood.
