What is your favorite color of eggs?

I forgot that Prairie Bluebells were a breed! Are their eggs really almost robin egg-colored?

I have several Prairie Bluebells... Unfortunately I can't answer your question because I have several other breeds (Cream Legbar, Ameraucanas, and hybrids) who also lay blue eggs. But I frequently get eggs that are a deep blue like a Robin's egg. I just don't know which hen is laying them.

On the breeding side, I have 5 roosters with blue egg laying genes - 2 Ameraucanas (Lavender and Black), a Cream Legbar, an Isbar, and an Easter Egger. I have several 2nd generation egg layers who also lay various shades of blue so it's hard to tell who is laying a specific color.

They’re so shiny, do you wash them? I’ve never washed my eggs, only wiped them off when needed because I’ve heard washing them takes off the coat they keeps them from spoiling, but I did hear about an Irish tradition where they rub the egg in butter so it helps preserve it but also gives the egg a buttery taste since it seeps in through the pores

They were freshly washed in that photo, yes.

The ones I keep to eat myself, no I don't wash, the bloom keeps them fresh so no need to wash that off, as once it's washed off eggs Must be refrigerated & won't stay fresh as long.

I do sell many eggs at a local grocery store. In the USA, the typical grocery store eggs are refrigerated & are required to be washed, so I do follow the rules when it comes to eggs that will be sold in a store with refrigerated egg section.

If I decided to sell eggs at the outdoor farmer's market, that's obviously not fancy, set up a table & sell your food or crafts, no washing or refrigeration necessary, & there are various places to do that every day of the week, but that is an inconsistent form of income & I've got consistent bills to pay.

The grocery store is close by, convenient & I can wash & crate eggs & take them down there any time they're open.

Pepper was Salts best friend, but she didn’t really care when she left, I think it was more of Salt following her.
Pepper had some beautiful chicks though! I sold one and the other I sold after Salts got killed by a cat and it started getting depressed to the same family that had Salt and Bear disappeared with the entire flock one day.
I can’t wait to see what her babies will look like if Kia ever gets the guts to fertilize her eggs

I chose white because my eggs are all white. I think white makes it easier to candle the eggs. But they aren’t all exactly the same white. Let’s see, I have ivory, alabaster, cream, linen, bone, frost, powder, parchment, porcelain, pearl…..

I don't like white eggs as much - I think they're kind of plain - but yours are pretty!

I’m not sure yet! She’s about, I want to say 5-6 months? So she’ll start soon!
She’s one of my laying girls rather then show girls so I don’t have many pictures of her… she’s hard to catch anyways
I do believe they do though, based off of pictures I’ve seen

Don't remind me. Two 4th of july's ago I got a pound ofbutter for like $1.47 or so. I just looked last week and it's over 4 dollars a pound wholesale now. It's just sick what's going on.
